Vintage Stores in Le Marais #2

Today is the stylish turn of ‘Yukiko’ Vintage shop in Le Marais, Paris

Fashion in Paris

Yukiko is like your most stylish girlfriend’s closet, filled with bags, shoes and accessories by classic designers like Dior and Chanel. Owner Yukiko also has her own line of new clothing. If you walk out dressed head-to-toe in Yukiko’s wares you’ll turn heads for your on-trend threads rather than for wearing anything obviously “from the past.”

Beautiful basics are the thing here, with that added, secret thrill of owning a bit of fashion history. Currently the site shows a nice collection of vintage Chanel and Gucci accessories.

Thierry Mugler has taken his three most feminine scents, AngelAlien and Womanity,

and has reinvented its classic perfumes in the form of luxury alcohols.

Fashion in Paris

The luxury brand has created their own chic and fashionable spirits

through a process that allows the liqueurs

to ferment for six weeks in exactly the same oak

or toasted cherry wood barrels that are used to produce fine liqueurs.

In their new form, our favorite fragrances reveal a new side: the iconic Angel

now releases flavors of honey and amber,

Alien comes with an almond edge and Womanity

takes on tastes of hazelnuts and spices.

Bargain-Hunting: The Best (and Cheapest!) Thrift Stores in Paris♥

Although many wonderful things can be said about Paris- and they’ve certainly been said! -one rather unfortunate aspect is that it’s a pricey place to shop. Most of the wonderful couture creations come with an astronomical price tag: looking fashionable is reserved only for those who can afford it. Or is it? In fact, Paris is a treasure trove of inexpensive yet fashionable clothing, with thrift stores found in various small streets and hidden corners. Here are some of the best places to shop frugally in Paris, where the most fashionable vintage finds are available at the lowest prices.

FREE ‘P’ STAR: With three stores in the Hotel de Ville and Marais area, this is the place to go if you’re on a tight budget. While numerous jackets and bejeweled dressed are displayed for 15 to 20 euros each, the big attraction here is their bargain bin, where everything found in the bin can be purchased for merely 1 euro. Although this bin is located in a tight, stuffy room that’s often overcrowded- and be prepared to dig deep- you can find anything here, from blazers to jeans to sweaters to skirts, for just one euro. Dress comfortably and head to the blue room upstairs for some cheap and chic finds!

THE KILO SHOP: Found also in Hotel de Ville and Saint Germain, this thrift store sells their merchandise by weight- 20 euros a kilo for clothing with green tags, and 30 euros a kilo for clothing with red tags. In their big and organized space you can find women’s clothing, men’s clothing, shoes, hats, bags, accessories, fur coats, and even wigs! Scales are located throughout the store so you can weigh your load before paying. This store is perfect for those who’re looking for a less chaotic thrifting experience.

LITTLE BOX: Like the name suggests, this store in the Marais is a tiny jewelry box of vintage designer finds. Although the prices aren’t as cheap as they are at the Kilo Shop or Free ‘P’ Star, their stock is well curated and you’ll find many beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces in great condition. A pair of vintage YSL heels are 150 euros, a blue fox fur jacket is 160 euros, and designer sunglasses are available from 70 euros and up. Pay this boutique (and its helpful owners!) a visit if you’re looking for an intimate shopping experience and an opportunity to score some secondhand couture.
