With endless sunshine and staggering temperatures, it’s safe to say that Summer is still with us in Paris ( which, given how rainy and chilly it’s been so far, is really quite miraculous.) Of course, even with the uncharacteristically good weather, Paris is the same; dressing well and being stylish is still everyone’s first priority. So, to stay on top of the fashion pyramid, here’s a visual guide to the hottest looks and styles of Summer ’13! Bon Chic Bon Genre, everyone ♥
This look combines three of the hottest Summer trends as seen on the runway: leather, minimalism, and holographic accessories. Start with a white tee or tank top and pair that with black leather shorts for a basic and minimalist outfit to build your look on. When it comes to shoes, opt for either flatforms or Birkenstock-style sandals (like the silver Zara sandals pictured above!), and carry a holographic clutch or crossbody bag to stash your stuff. For a cool finish, hide your eyes with Aviator-style sunglasses.
SHORT & MIDI
Cropped tops and midi-skirts (skirts that go just a little below the knee) are the garments du jour of the Summer. For a girly take on this trend, pair a lacy cropped top with a high-waisted midi-skirt, and slip on some open-toed booties for added elegance. Carry a top-handle bag (like the blue See by Chloé bag as seen above) or an oversized clutch, and accessorize with dangly earrings in colors that match your outfit. Finally, keep your eyes out of the sun with retro cat-eyed sunglasses.
Prints- and mixing them together- are all the rage this season! You can go bold and vibrant by opting for colorful leopard prints à la Kenzo, or you can try a more muted ladylike ensemble as seen above. Start off with a high-collared patterned dress in a dark hue, and add some playfulness and color by opting for brightly-colored heels (also patterned, of course.) Pick a simple bag in a complementary color to offset all the patterns in the outfit- to top it all off, choose sunglasses with oversized and round frames.
